Michael G Smith

After completing a Bachelor of Agriculture (Rural Valuation) at Massey University in 1984 Mike has been predominantly involved in the Rural Banking industry in New Zealand.

Mike worked for The Rural Banking and Finance Corporation of New Zealand for 7 years including 3 years as a Branch Manager. He completed 5 years with The Bank of New Zealand as a Rural Area Manager specialising in lending to large scale sheep, beef and dairy properties and consulting to the bank generally.

In 1996 Mike established and managed 3 large Dairy operations in Australia on behalf of New Zealand syndicates. After the initial establishment period, 2 years later, Mike returned to New Zealand to take up a position with a large New Zealand Bank where he is currently involved in Rural Finance.

Mike maintains an active involvement in farm management & consultancy through his current work, the industry network he is associated with and by way of being financially involved in a number of properties in New Zealand and Australia. He is also involved with the ownership and management of several commercial property investments in a number of New Zealand locations.

Mike is a Senior Member of New Zealand Property Institute and a Registered Valuer.


Eric Anderson

By the end of 1983 Eric had completed his Diploma in Agriculture and Advanced Diploma in Farm Management at Lincoln University, South Island, New Zealand. Since then Eric has been directly involved in professional farm management for the last 20 years throughout the North Island.

He has managed properties for both private individuals as well as corporate farmers, from a "full hands on manager" to "complete consultancy".

With the majority of the farms Eric has been involved in, he has been responsible for the introduction of new management systems, marketing initiatives, breeding programs, large scale development programs including fencing & water reticulation, roading & drainage, fertiliser & seeding programs, animal health programs, labor structures, employment contracts, and health & safety programs.

Post implementing these initiatives, ongoing monitoring has been the final key to the continued success of these projects. The underlying criteria of all the above has been Return on Investment.

Eric is involved in consulting in New Zealand and provides a significant contribution to the Agricultural sector from a practical and business prospective.
